Literacy Solutions and More
As a Small Business Development Center consultant, I had the pleasure of working with Cassie. She has two infrequently found skills: 1) a systems approach to building programs and company structure and, the 2) ability to take abstract concepts and turn them into practical applications that fill project requirements. She and her business partner worked as a team as they planned, developed, manufactured, and rolled out an innovative, piece of golf course equipment. Cassie worked with the vendors, prepared for tradeshows, and put together the operational components of the company. This included strategic planning, Customer Relations systems, project management, learning and development materials, and online training programs. She showed a unique capability to discuss topics, make suggestions, and settle on a strategic plan of action. She did an exemplary job of learning any new skills, such as accounting, financing, sales, and learning new technologies.
Cassie is well versed in Learning Management Systems and project management tools. She developed the website, sales/marketing strategy, user operation/maintenance videos and content writing for their company. For her, this has been a mix of knowledge areas in which she had already some experience, but did her own research and took business management courses alongside her PhD courses. She is an intuitive problem solver, a quick learner, priority driven, amicable, and a team player. Cassie is more than capable of building a new program from scratch, just as she has done with the facilitation of starting up her own company.
Oh, yeah, she’s fun to work with!

I have had the very rare opportunity to learn from Cassie in multiple stages of my career. I was first a student in her education courses at St. Cloud State University while completing my undergraduate degree. I then had the pleasure of teaching her daughter in my 3rd grade classroom. Knowing her as Professor Froemming and as Cassie, the parent of my student, has shown me her unrelenting passion for education at every level.
Building relationships and working towards a common goal as a team is the engine that drives her instruction. With her guidance and modeling, I learned many ways to foster a culture where students can see the teacher’s passion... I learned the value of diversity in selection of genres, authors, and characters to enhance instruction. Her assignments and activities exposed us to current best practices and we felt safe to take risks, valued, and left her course with the tools and inspiration we needed to be successful! I’ve been fortunate to call Cassie a mentor and a friend.

I had the honor of having Cassie as an undergraduate professor on three different occasions. She is a great mentor, attentive, and I believe that Cassie is responsible for the strong bond that my peers and I had within our learning cohort. She puts a strong emphasis on relationships based on trust, honesty, and vulnerability. She truly created a safe, informative, and engaging learning environment. She taught us how to design creative learning experiences and portfolios to showcase our work.
Cassie's emphasis on collaboration and teamwork allowed us to participate in various large and small group sessions. I still to this day, have binders compiled of science activities that align with the state standards. We created practical materials that we could put to use in a real world setting. Cassie is a talented educator, that has a strong commitment to the education field, and always pushes her learners to do their best. I feel very fortunate to have had her as a college professor.

Cassie created and reinforced an active and engaging environment where thinking critically and learning deeply was encouraged every day. She not only took the time to patiently and cohesively present material, she made an effort to get to know and care about her learners. She gave me valuable insights and mentorship in my endeavors, and also made it clear that I was more than just a number in her course. She invested countless hours answering my questions with genuine compassion and shared helpful tips that best prepared me to succeed in my future work.
Cassie taught me about integrating technology, helped me use the tools to succeed, and left a lasting impact on me. She inspired, encouraged, and supported me in any way that I needed. She is committed to meet the individual needs of her learners, equipped to effectively train others, and leaves a lasting positive impact on their lives personally, I grew in my ability to persevere in tough situations as a result of her encouragement, and I'm glad to know her as a professor and friend.
5th Grade Educator at St. Cloud Math & Science Academy
SCSU Class of 2019
I had the privilege of having Cassie for an instructor during my undergraduate degree. One of the most important aspects I remember about Cassie was her genuine care for the success of her learners and her willingness to help and support them in any way that she could. Her passion and enthusiasm for education was evident, and she prepared rich content in her courses. Cassie’s instruction was hands-on and relevant to our own real-world experiences; she helped us thrive while student teaching. She modeled and facilitated dialogue with a learner-centered approach, gave us a voice, and allowed us take control of our own learning.
Cassie thrives at designing experiences to engage and enrich her learners. I am grateful for Cassie because her passion for teaching radiates and left an impact on how I navigate the profession. Even beyond college, she has continued to support me and answer my questions.

I had a sense of uncertainty in my desired professional goals initially, but Cassie gave me the confidence I needed, the tools to succeed, and the critical feedback that I needed to grow. She taught me to be myself and embrace my professional goals. As an instructor, she never taught down to us, but taught to us. She was one of us. Her educational stories helped me understand what education was really all about - we never stop growing or learning. Her high expectations stretched me to not be complacent, but choose hard work and passion in my calling.
Cassie was in my life at the right time and I cannot express today how grateful I am. I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for her. I now see what she saw in me on the first day that we met. Thank you, Cassie, for all your dedicated, strong work, compassion, and love for what you do because it shows!
